Event Description

Threads of Awareness Bunting: Exclusive Slow-Stitch Patchwork Flags that Carry Creative Expression and Humanitarian Intent

Each flag in the Threads of Awareness Bunting is more than just a piece of textile art; it’s a symbol of community, creativity, and care. Mindfully crafted, each patchwork panel—stitched from recycled, eco-dyed fabric—tells the personal story of its maker, coming together to form a one-of-a-kind bunting.

As part of the Sutton Mental Health Foundation's Community Dye Garden Project, Whitehall's artist-in-residence, Zoë Hannam, holds monthly community slow-stitch sessions at Whitehall. Starting in May, we’ll create contemplation cloths that will be sewn into patchwork flags to be displayed at Whitehall to raise awareness of mental health and the healing power of creative expression.
