Restoration of Beddington Farmlands
Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 10:00 AM
Beddington Farmlands
Event Description
Join the Farmlands Warden for a day of events to celebrate the Wandle Fortnight. This tour will be the fourth guided walk and will focus on the Restoration works to turn this old landfill into a biodiverse nature reserve.
The warden will lead a walk over the site to discuss the current condition, the agreed conservation scheme and the status of the pending planning application. We will look at some of the Target Species which guide the restoration and the progress being made towards those aims.
Beddington Farmlands is a ‘work in progress’ so attendees must be confident on their feet and wear sturdy shoes as the terrain is uneven and broken in many places. Pumps, flip flops etc will be turned away. It can get cold at the top so dress warmly and appropriately for the weather conditions. No facilities, No under 18s.
The meeting location will be Mile Road Gate at the mid point of the Farmlands Permissive Path - ///spray.park.spider. Do not head to the Beddington Park Pavillion.
