Parent/carer information session

We would like parent/carers of young people with EHCPs in Years 10 and 11, to the Preparation for Adulthood Hub at the Sutton Life Centre on 3rd March at 10am, for an informal session on the options available for their next steps at Post-16.

The Preparation for Adulthood Hub is a new space for young people with SEND in Sutton, offering a range of regular social, wellbeing and informative sessions, including board game and quiz nights, wellbeing drop-ins, craft clubs and more – you can find out what’s on for your young person here: Preparation for Adulthood Hub Events

At the session on 3rd March, we will discuss:

How the post-16 transfer process works for young people with an EHCPDifferences between sixth forms, further education colleges and specialist colleges in the local areaCourses and pathways available depending on your young person’s outcomes after Year 11An introduction to apprenticeships, traineeships and supported internshipsLocal social opportunities and events for young people with SENDExploring the support the social care transition team can offer under the Care Act 2014

We will provide handouts with the key information discussed at the session, and you will be asked if you would like a follow-up with your EHCP Coordinator for any further questions.
