Join us for an intimate and illuminating conversation as celebrated poet Pascale Petit and novelist Sam Mills sit down
with award-winning poet Kate Wakeling to discuss their latest works and the profound themes they explore.
Pascale Petit will be launching her much-anticipated debut novel, My Hummingbird Father, a lyrical and evocative exploration of repressed memories and the need for romantic and familial love, identity, and the natural world. The book is in dialogue with Pascale’s Ondaatje and Laurel Prize-winning poetry collection, Mama Amazonica.
Sam Mills will be discussing her novel The Fragments of my Father, a powerful and poignant literary biography and memoir about families, freedom, creativity and what it means to be a carer.
Moderated by Kate Wakeling, an award-winning poet, this conversation will delve into the creative processes of these two
accomplished authors, exploring how their works intersect with themes of memory, identity, and the intricate connections
between past and present.
